Nyotron Co-Founder Nir Gaist Named “CTO of the Year” by 16th Annual Info Security PG’s 2020 Global Excellence Awards®

Company’s PARANOID Solution Wins Silver Award for Endpoint Security

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 4, 2020Nyotron, provider of the industry’s first automatic Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution with integrated prevention, today announced that Info Security Products Guide, the industry’s leading information security research and advisory guide, has named Nyotron a winner in two categories of the 16th Annual 2020 Info Security PG’s Global Excellence Awards. Co-founder and CTO Nir Gaist was decorated with the gold award for CTO of the year, and the company’s flagship product PARANOID won silver in the endpoint security category.

These prestigious global awards recognize cybersecurity and information technology vendors with advanced, groundbreaking products, solutions, and services that are helping set the bar higher for others in all areas of security and technologies. More than 35 judges from around the world representing a wide spectrum of industry experts participated in the judging process.

“We are proud that Info Security Products Guide has recognized PARANOID as an innovative solution that raises the bar for endpoint security,” said Gaist. “This recognition further validates our unique, deterministic approach to fighting malware.”

PARANOID uses a threat-agnostic approach to protect laptops, desktops and servers while providing precise visibility into any cyber attack. It is the first and only OS-centric Positive Security solution; instead of trying to detect a near-infinite and constantly evolving number of cyber threats, it leverages a finite and practically static whitelist of “designed-good” operating system behavior and rejects everything else. This concept replaces Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) with Endpoint Prevention and Response (EPR), thus providing both precise visibility and real-time protection from the most advanced attacks.

Often labeled a child prodigy, Gaist began hacking at age 6 and developed the prototype for PARANOID in 2007 when he was just 19 years old. He founded Nyotron in 2009 and shipped the first commercially available version of PARANOID in 2014. Gaist is a recognized cybersecurity thought leader who regularly speaks at industry events, and was named to the Forbes Israel 30 under 30 list in 2016.

About Nyotron
Nyotron pioneers a new generation of automatic Endpoint Detection and Response with integrated protection called Endpoint Prevention and Response (EPR). Our product prevents damage from malware that evades existing security layers and offers granular visibility into the attack. Based on the OS-Centric Positive Security, Nyotron’s PARANOID automatically whitelists trusted operating system behavior and rejects everything else. No manual threat hunting, baselining, machine learning/AI or cloud connectivity required. With PARANOID organizations gain true defense-in-depth protection against the most advanced attacks. Nyotron is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA with an R&D office in Israel.
